Research Instruction CV

Toubeau Macaques resting on felled Paluquiuwsp tree.

I am a primate ecologist, with additional interests in primate conservation, ethnoprimatology, anthropology of conservation, human ecology of Southeast Asia, and nutritional anthropology.  I earned my Ph.D. in anthropology from the University of Georgia (UGA) in August 2005.

I am currently a part-time instructor in the Department of Anthropology at UGA.  In January 2006 I will begin working as postdoctoral research fellow for Dr. Dario Maestripieri in the Behavioral Biology Lab at the University of Chicago.  For this postdoctoral position, I will conduct 5-6 months of preliminary field research focused on the behavior, ecology, and conservation status of Macaca ochreata, one of the seven species of macaques endemic to Sulawesi, Indonesia.

My professional objective is to be a part of a multicultural and interdisciplinary environment, where I may continue to pursue my integrative research and teaching interests in anthropological primatology and environmental anthropology.
